Hi,
I have a veralite connected to my router for internet access, but I find out that veralite assigns IP addresses to other devices in the LAN and stops the DHCP server functions of my router.
I saw in the docs to disable the DHCP server of Vera in net&wifi settings tab, but there is not any button in the advanced part of net&wifi in GUI of Veralite(In the docs it is written that there is a button to disable DHCP functionality of Vera3 but not exist in veralite!!).
Please help me how to disable the DHCP server of Veralite??
A quick search of the forums would have discovered this:
I have the same problem. Frustrating when getting started with Veralite. I have read that post referred to, but I do not yet know how the modify the firewall settings “via SSH”. Directions please?
@jhensey Welcome!
This section in the MCV Wiki explains SSH access: http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Logon_Vera_SSH
Thanks Frazier. Looks straightforward.
Issues resolved.
My symptons were that the Veralite was disrupting LAN traffic on a Windows based LAN. In particular programs that used computer names failed to work, such as Remote Destop and Mediaportal. The issues were most pronounced on Vista. Win7 was affected also with RDP but most of the time mediaportal worked. Same with XP, I think. Suspicion was therefore DNS and the thread referred to here seemed relevant.
However I have the updated software version 1.5.408 which was meant to have a fix. Obviously not!
I worked around the problem with the Veralite firewall rule as suggested.
This rule means the Veralite will not now act as DHCP, when selected to do so. This is fine with me.
Thanks
The fix I believe was in the Vera 3 firmware and forgot to get added to the Vera Lite firmware. I assume that this has been added in future builds of the firmware for Vera Lite.
