Hi,
I’m currently waiting for my VeraEdge to arrive.
I have a location chosen which as AC Power but no easy Ethernet cable access.
I have read the below link kindly provided by -garrett in a much earlier post.
http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/WiFiClientMode
A passage from the above link reads; “This means that instead of Vera providing wi-fi to other devices, Vera will instead connect to your existing wi-fi network for internet.” However the link also talks about having WAN and LAN ports, but the VeraEdge has only one Ethernet connection so I’m not sure if it is includes the VeraEdge (or was pre VeraEdge).
My question is: Can the VeraEdge WiFi connect to my wireless router AND connect to a WiFi compatible thermostat?
Thanks
JohnRob

There was issues this in the past, but I think it works now. I personally wouldn’t trust my VERA on a wireless connection tho. I like to put my Wireless router central to the house for obvious reasons… I like to put vera in the same place for the same obvious reasons. Both require power and both for range issues should be in a central location.
If vera drops off wireless for either router or vera issues your left without a connection and vera can’t even handle its local tasks. (any timers are what ever is scheduled).
Thanks integlikewhoa
You answered two of my questions today, thanks much.
While I wait for my VeraPlus I will see about running Cat5 to my Vera chosen location.
