Tried to add the Aeon Labs Recessed Door Sensor to my system, and well, it added it as GenericIO1 with just On/Off buttons. Which didn’t appear to do anything. Unpaired it and added again(a few times), same thing. Tried changing the GenericIO1.xml to DoorSensor1.xml and GenericIO1.json to DoorSensor1.json. That changed the icon to what looked like a sensor, with bypass/armed slider. But still wouldn’t show or detect any sensor activity.
Anyone have any suggestions? I did submit a ticket, but who knows how long that takes…
So I have the VeraLite, but here is what I had to do to get it working:
Go to the device, go to Device Options
Click on Add New Configuration.
Under the newly added variable, put 121 as the Variable, for Data Size choose 4 byte dec, for Desired Value put 16.
This tells the sensor to use legacy mode and act like the old non-Gen 5 sensors. Vera’s UI7 doesn’t appear to support the Gen5 devices properly yet.
Then you’ve got to convince it that it is a door sensor. Under Advanced on the device change:
device_type: urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:DoorSensor:1
device_file: D_DoorSensor1.xml
device_json: D_DoorSensor1.json
Unfortunately the Vera tech support has been fairly useless to me. Shout out to Christopher Cheng at Aeon who actually helped me get this working. I must have had 6 emails back and forth with Chris in the time it took the Vera folks to send me 1.

Saw this in another thread, and just tried this and so far no go… ??? :
I did get a reply from vera that said “I reported to our development team the issue. They will investigate it and will fix it. The fix will be available in a future update.”
So maybe one day Gen5 stuff will actually work! ;D
It works now!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Don’t see the sensor on the web interface change but the scene that is attached to works!!!
