VeraEdge: Cannot delete CT100 and it isn't working

Like others I have had issues with the new Edge. However, I have a reasonable working network. No my only issue is the CT100. Initially this worked fine but when trying to repair it has been nothing but problems. I did not understand initially that it was CRITICAL to have the controller within a few fit of the controller for pairing and even for five minutes or so after pairing. I know that now but it is badly broken.

The CT100 shows up in the list and displays the values that I set from the Vera interface it looks like it is working normally. However, the thermostat does not display the setpoints from the UI. If i set them from from the mobile app it shows them as being set briefly and then they revert back to what the box says they are. The Edge UI however seems oblivious. The CT100 uses the setpoint that I set from the UI on the thermostat. I don’t have a C wire so its running on batteries.

I have reset the Vera numerous times and tried everything I know to get it unpaired thinking I could repair it that way. The last thing I did was to pull the batteries on the thermostat and delete from the UI. The UI said “command sent” and was happy but I don’t really think that the command was sent to the thermostat. The only thing I haven’t done is a full reset and reload of my last backup. I doubt that I have a backup with a working thermostat that is not missing most of my devices.

As background when I have tried re-pairing this it has tended to push out some other device. On one occasion the pairing failed but the thermostat showed with the name of a a light switch. The switch was gone replaced by the thermostat. The second time it took on the name of a multi-sensor.

My experience is that devices pair easily even spontaneously the first time and are difficult the second time around. I really don’t want to start over. I am perfectly willing to log into Linux and edit some files. I am thinking that the bogus data is in a setup file somewhere (XML?) and if I can delete it with a text editor maybe I can manage to start over.

In general I am now satisfied with the Edge you get to know its bugs after playing for awhile. As long as I adhered to the controller next to the device to pair rule I have been successful.

Anyone have another suggestion?

IUknown, i have same problems too.
My devices (even non battery) spontaneously changing their status to others (motions sensors, thermostats and etc.).
I did all, i even made all from scratch but it didn’t change anything. I will wait a new firmware, because support couldn’t help me.

The other issue is that the UI checks out every day or so and I have to reboot. The good thing is that the automation is still working when the UI is messed up. I can work around the thermostat but i am relying on the automation.

deleting an item alone wont unpair it

you have to set vera into unpair mode

and then go to the ct100 and set to unpair there… on the ct100 is menu then mate, mate (twice)

http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,28836.msg211471.html#msg211471

then to pair do the same thing menu then mate, mate (twice)

ui7 seems to add things even if the pair mode is not set properly on the device, a simple state change is enough for vera to add it, think that is a bug in ui7, only solution is to remove and add again when that happens

This is another operation that I have probably messed up in the past. However this time around I believe I did that. I will try your EXACT sequence.

I was able to unpair and the thermostat was deleted. However, no matter what I do when I add it back in it does not work. Eventually it displays NaN (not a number) for the temperature. This included turning off the Vera and rebooting between unpairing and pairing. The pairing looks good asks the right questions displays the right status.

The only recourse I have left is to factory reset the Edge and hope that I can load a backup with all my other devices and still have it work. On the other hand if I can’t pair the thermostat immediately after a factory reset there is something wrong with the thermostat. I may see if 2GIG can at least tell me how to factory reset the thermostat first. There is a reset button butthe docs say it just reboots which is what I observe. Maybe hold the reset down or something…

Any one know how to factory reset a 2GIG CT100?

I had the NaN thing happen once, I change the temp from my phone and then started working normally, I could not change it from the web gui

HomeWave app just crashes when I try to access the thermostat. Time to factory reset.

I was using AutHomationHD 3.3.1.4 Beta

http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,25219.0.html

it has the ability to pick a temp rather then scroll up\down which just adds 1 like the web gui
