too bad this is now dead… I would have bought for $100 on just to try it vs my Vera 3… not worth $150 IMO.

Richard, You think it is worth getting this vs just keeping my Vera 3? Does it run UI7 better - as I suspect I will need to move from UI5 to UI7 soon to support more devices.

If you have a Vera3 I would not upgrade to an Edge unless you wanted to use a device that only works with the new Z-Wave+ chip.

If you are suffering from the lack of memory on a Vera Lite … it would be worth upgrading to a Vera Edge.

My home setup is still Vera 3 - UI5.
My latest testing on UI7 (Vera Lite and Vera Edge) on the July Release) has not shown any of the serious issues I was previously encountering. So I might be moving up soon.

Seconded. The current VeraEdeg is the successor to the VeraLite. The successor to the Vera 3 still has to be released.

I run 2 Vera 3 units. One on UI5 and 1 on Ui7. I’ll be slowly moving over devices from the Ui5 unit to the Ui7 unit to see if there are any issues. If there are, I have the working Ui5 unit to regress them back to…

Looking forward to hearing about your UI7 experience. I am interested in running some newer ZW+ devices (especially Aeotec Multisensor 6, maybe Fibaro motions) but hoping the WINK will be able to control them or we can hack a way to get things working as it seems people are nearly successful with the Aeotec.

Bricked my Vera lite last month updating it and moved up, I thought, to the edge. Missed the $99 deal and miss my old Vera lite and UI5 even more. The edge with UI7 is very slow and nonresponsive, drops some devices here and there then recconnects them randomly. Some cameras that worked on my old Lite will no connect and the remote app playback is terrible. I’m frustrated and generally very dissapointed overall as the software is just not ready for prime time IMHO.

Nope not unless you need z-wave plus or new to buying a VERA. It’s much cheaper then a vera 3 was or still is, but if you already have a 3…

Yes. also thanks for the reminder about the rebate that I haven’t gotten yet.

To add insult to injury, I’ve already had to RMA my Edge back to them twice after FW upgrades/downgrades have bricked 2 of them. So not only did I not get the rebate, but I’ve never been able to successfully use any Edge unit yet. At least I still have my Vera Lite which keeps getting brought back into use.

I Submitted my VeraEdge rebate back in July and still have not seen it yet. Not happy.

When are we supposed to get that rebate? I suppose it is my fault for believing in them.

I sent an email last week and received a reply the same day from a woman named Nancy. Here is the reply:
