Vera3 needs Broadband?

Hi All,

I got a Vera3 a few weeks back and got it all set up ok, got a number of devices on there and all works well - but only if there is a broadband connection. I have Virgin Cable broadband and it dies every now and again - when it does none of the scenes on the vera 3 work and I cannot reach it to manage it.

The marketing blurb says that it doesnt need a broadband connection - so what’s going on? has anyone else found this? Also has anyone noticed that the vera3 needs a power reset after doing a z-wave repair? (I moved a load of stuff round - did a repair which completed but the vera3 needed a power off-power on before I could reach it through a web browser)

Cheers,

Sam

I have owned a Vera 2 for more than two years and it works flawlessly (for the most part) using DSL. When DSL goes out everything continues to work (with the exception I can’t access the system at the cp.mios web site). Specifically, all of the scenes work, the door locks with pins work, lights work, luup codes work. I wonder if this isn’t another issue that is impacting your vera 3?

Don

when your scene implies camera actions or other stuff that needs to contact internet like weather plugin, it probably not gonna work without internet. whenever network is unreachable it will automaticly fix itself unless you have set static ip, which is pretty much obsolete nowadays.
