Vera3 got blocked from verbose logging

Hi,

I was doing some Lua development and I forgot verbose logging enabled for a night and now my Vera is not responding - I can’t connect neither from browser, nor with ssh. I’ve tried pressing “reset” button for factory defaults, but - no success. Any hints will be mostly appreciated! Thanks!

Enabling verbose logging for a long time can’t break you’re Vera. The problem is somewhere else. Try another factory reset ( keep reset button pressed for 10 to 60 seconds ) and if this doesn’t resolve the problem try contact tech support.

Hi, and thanks for fast reply!

Yes, indeed connecting the Vera directly to my computer allowed me to get into it. Still trying to connect with it via my home network failed (it is directly connected to my router). So I made another factory reset, while I was connected to it (the old reset managed to delete things partially), assigned it static and different IP and I’ve managed to connect to it the normal way.

BUT, I’ve restored from the backup that I had and it got stuck again. It could be because I have lots of devices on the network - 8 Vitrum switches , 6 Fibaro dimmers / relays, about 8 roller shutters (no, these are not mine :-), so the Z-Wave network restore could be taking longer. Could this be the case?

Regarding Vitrum I’ve had (and still haven’t solved them entirely) several issues, but I’ve asked in the proper forum group (http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,17319.0.html)

The number of devices is not big at all, this is not the trigger for your problem. Maybe you did other settings before you enabled verbose that cause Vera to freeze.

Try an older backup…

Hi,

I don’t have an older backup, but it occurred that there isn’t a problem in the backup… You’ll laugh at me, but the “problem” was that during the restore, the net settings were restored too, and so my fixed IP got overridden with DHCP settings and I was just not referring it… :-\

Now everything looks fine. Thank for you time again!

Good that you got it working, but for future use, historical backups should be available (unless you disabled your Vera from doing this) once you’ve logged onto cp.mios.com or at least they used to be.

If the option is enabled, backups are available on cp.mios.com
