Here is the issue description of our findings during the M2M demo with Vera.
We found that sometimes the Vera3 (UI5 version 1.5.622) controller has slow performance which prevents the user from controlling the sensors/devices. This happens even when good internet connection is available, and considering that all Zwave devices are within the controller range (Very close to the Zwave controller). We have seen that sometimes It takes one whole minute for Vera to execute one command to the Zwave devices.
On the other hand, sometimes when Vera is fine in receiving the first command to one of the sensors that is not available within the Zwave range, or turned off, it slows down the whole controller and stops us to control other devices. until the first command times out.
FYI, our vera controller is connected to 2 cameras, one door sensor, two wall plug switches, one dimmer, smoke detector, CO detector, water flood detector, shock detector, and window detector.

This sounds like it might be a routing issue. What sort of commands are being issued and are the being issued form Vera or from a mobile app?

This is not abnormal. If Vera must wait on a device that is not there, it will have to wait for the timeout.

What type of cameras? HD? Are you saving snapshots or video clips?
Is a browser(s) open to the Vera UI or a camera page when it is slow?
Sounds like you got a bunch of battery powered sensors. If Vera is trying to poll these it results in miserable performance, especially if you have mains powered devices that try to route these failing polls. This is a well known problem that there is a lot to read about in the posts regarding battery thermostats.

The suggestion from @Sigge was a good one. Have you altered the defaults with regard to polling of your battery powered devices? If so, then I would try resetting them to their defaults.
If that doesn’t change anything, then you should probably get Vera support to look at it directly.

could you please tell me the default values of timeout and the number of retry when device not available.
