Vera3 can see devices if 12 inches away, not if 5-10ft away

Hi everyone - I am trying to re-setup a schlage z-wave door lock that I’ve successfully been using with my Vera3 for about two years. Please note that this problem isn’t exclusive to the lock, but is more prevalent with the lock than other devices.

I can configure the device just fine if the Vera is about 12 inches away from the lock, it pairs and polls fine.

I then unplug the vera and move it next to my router. All internet based functions of the vera work fine - I can access the UI, etc. without any problems. However, the vera can no longer poll the device. In this case, I’ve only moved the vera 5-10ft so it shouldn’t be a range issue.

Any ideas?

Did you perform a z-wave heal after you moved your Vera back into position? Also, are there any other electronic devices nearby that could be interfering with Vera? I found that when I placed Vera on top of one of my servers the range was severely degraded.

Yes, I’ve tried the heal. I think I’m just dealing with a burned out Vera (It is about 3 years old)

I’ve seen a post where the little antenna wire came loose from the connection. You could try to open her up and make sure your antenna is still connected.
