Vera2-UI3 Exclude Not Always Working - Can't switch to UI2

I read Aaron’s post on UI2 being available for Vera2 and thought I would try it but have been unable to exclude a Leviton wall simmer switch and an Intermatic dimmable light module. I was able to successfully exclude an Intermatic applicance module.

According to Aaron’s post, I can’t switch over to UI2 until I have excluded all devices from UI3.

Any help would be most welcome.

In re-reading the post, apparently I only need to do this for Schlage locks but I am still having issues with excluding devices and this concerns me as I am not yet sold on MCV as a solution to my home automation needs.

What Aaron was referring to was that once you have upgraded to UI2, your devices will have to be re-paired because Vera will lose its pairing with them. This doesn’t mean you have to exclude all of your devices before you do the upgrade.

In fact, you might even get lucky and find that Vera is still paired with some or all of your devices after installing UI2, in which case you may not have to do anything. That was the case for me, and I was pleasantly surprised.

That’s good to know - I will give it a try. Thanks!

I still want to be able exclude devices though…

I have no locks. Downgrade from UI3 to UI2 is no problem without pairing the devices again.
You just have to revert to factory settings when “updateing” to UI2 and after that restore your UI2 backup. If you have no UI2 backup, you have to configure from scratch.
