Vera2 not detected in micasaverde.com/vera2 and login failed in findvera.com

I have been trying to upgrade my Vera2 to UI4 by going to micasaverde.com/vera2 for days without success. It cannot detect my vera on the local network. (Using firmware 1.0.996 on Vera2 EU version).
It’s on the same local network as the PC accessing the internet sharing the same internet connection (DSL). I have tried multiple network configurations, connected the PC to ETH2, but it still cannot be detected. Same result on cp.mios.com.

Findvera.com, on the other hand, will detect it and will display its number and IP address but I can only access it locally (by clicking on the green button). Remotely, I get a Login failed although creating the username/password from Vera seems successfull.

Anyone solved similar problems ?? I’m becoming desperate… :frowning:

Don’t get desperate. That’s when things can go wrong in a hurry.

There are other posts here about the same issue.
The first thing I would try is another browser. Had this happen to me.
I’ve seen a post of someone’s Vera not being registered with Mios. MCV added the device to their server and all was ok.
Do a quick search here for similar posts…

JOD.

Hi JOD,

I already tried different browsers (IE8, Firefox 3.6, Chrome 7).
It could be that my Vera is not registered in their database.
I already contacted MCV support but they haven’t been able to solve the problem yet.
I hoped someone in the forum could give some hints.

Problems solved after re-flashing the unit. Finally!!!

It didn’t take long to for me to get confused with setting up the vera2!!

Unboxed the beast last night, plugged it in, let it cycle until the 3 lights came on, then plugged in my ethernet.

Went to the micasaverde/vera2 page on my internal network and began the search for my vera2; NO devices found. Huh??

Reset, unplugged, plugged, pinged, you name I did it. Couldn’t get a ping on the device, so now I am wondering, WTH??

Found the port I used was previously plugged into an Xbox, and port forwarding was turned on; immediately deleted the setting. Still nothing; again reset, unplug, plug, ping, …

See some posts about setting it up through cp.mios.com, so I give it a try. Register for an account, no problems here, and go into search mode… Nothing, nada, zilch, …

So I am back to the basics; I should be able to ping the beast… finally, it starts pinging and I don’t know what changed. Go figure…

So I go back to cp.mios.com, have to log in with my previously established Username and Password, and get “Username or Password incorrect.” I am not losing my mind and know what I used for name and password. Okay, I’ll use another one and write everything down. Username and Password work for awhile, can’t find device, reset everything, and again “Username or Password incorrect.”

Issue #1 What is happening to my cp.mios.com account that is doesn’t know who I am after I register??

Finally, I go back to micasaverde.com/vera2, and what do you know, it found my device. Okay, now I am getting somewhere. I finally found the beast, and I am ready for action!

Go back to cp.mios.com, register a third username and password and it still can’t find the beast.

Issue #2 Are there any firewall rules I need to enable/disable on my router to allow cp.mios.com to talk to the vera2?

I promise there will be more questions… Thanks all !!

Issue #1

All three accounts I created appear to be working. I did manage to logout of one account, logged into another, logged out, then hit login and it popped me back in on the one I previously logged out on. Strange.

Issue #2

Okay, before I get the message “it’s out there, go find it;” I found this tidbit on the wiki pages:
http://wiki.micasaverde.com/index.php/Networking_Setup:Advanced_Network_Setup

I will give open port 80 on the vera to see if that resolves my issue.

Trial and error, so just bear with me !!
