New to the forums here from the land down under… Some great stuff on here already, would appreciate any help you guys can give!
As you may or may not be aware, Z-wave is very new to Aus (only end of 2010 was it introduced) and supported products are very limited at the moment, dimmers and appliance modules are about as far as the range supports on the AU frequency to date (921.42MHz)
I have bought a US Vera2 which from my understanding includes an inbuilt antenna (operating on 908.42MHz), and I already have an AU AEON dongle (on the 921.42MHz band).
My question is… Am I able to run both these antennas simultaniously using the Vera2 unit, in order to support some US Z-Wave motion sensors in my system, as well as operate my AU In-Wall dimmers? Or can you only select either the internal antenna, or USB for transmitting commands?
I know its an odd one but would appreciate anyone’s input, I will recieve all my units within the fortnight so im looking forward to getting stuck into setting it up!

Unfortunately no.

Yes you can, go to the dashboard, Z-Wave device, options, port.
You will see: /dev/tts/1 this is the address for the internal chip.
replace it with either /dev/usb/tts/0 or /dev/usb/tts/1
If my memory serves me correct:
0 = port 1, top USB port and
1 = port 2, bottom USB port.
Thanks for your prompt reply. Shame about the antennas but I assumed that would be the case. I guess the only option then would be to commit to an all US 908.42MHz system… There is no existing AEON (or similar) in wall micro modules available to fit in line between the existing switch and the device in the US is there?
Thats not such a stupid idea at all… Thanks for the link to the other thread, for another $239 I think that i probably my best bet for now, simply bridge the units and achieve both frequencies from the one interface. Thanks for your input guys I will head down that line!
