Something must have happened when you did a flash. Was there a reason that you did a complete flash and not just do a factory reset when downgrading to UI4? Can you try and do a UI4 factory reset from the settings area?
First I went to UI5… controlling the system was horrible slow. Scenes that turned things on would forget to turn them off (about half of the time). MiOS only worked some of the time. The issues seemed to get progressively worse over time until the system seemed unusable.
When I initially went back to UI4 and restored my backup I did a factory reset, ZWave quit working totally. I could not issue a command to anything. I could not add or remove. Next I restored the dongle firmware and still nothing.
Finally I gave up on backup restore and tried to start from scratch. I have not tried to restore a backup yet, I’m just trying to get the
zwave radio to work
My strategy is to completely isolate the problem which is down to a firmware setting or hardware issue.
Have you submitted a support ticket ? If so can you please tell me the ticket number or your Vera serial by PM. If not you should enable tech support access so I can access your unit and on UI5 can be done from Setup > Tech Support and click on enable it (re-enable if it is already enabled) or if you downgraded to UI4 from Advanced > Tech Support and re-enable it after that submit the ticket and give it to me by PM so I can take a look.
Manually restart you unit again. Do this before you do your restore from your backup.
Do a restore from your old Ui4 backup.
As you have reset the ZWave network the devices may not work. If this occur, unpairing the device and then re-add.
Port settings
Check the ZWave setting for Vera 2 Ui4. Form menu select ZWave settings > Options tab > port should be
internal ZWave /dev/tts/1
External USB dongle /dev/usb/tts/0.
Find the last good backup of your system and have it available.
Go to the firmware tab of your UI and copy the link for the desired build into the box: URL for MiOS custom firmware and hit “UPGRADE”.
Select “FACTORY DEFAULTS” when prompted in the process.
Wait for Vera to install the selected firmware.
Restore the selected backup in the backup section of your UI. Provide the path to the backup by clicking “Select file” en then hit the “RESTORE” button
