Well, a little less than a week ago Vera started doing things backwards. Since these were all PLEG scenes I thought I had messed something up, but no, he logic was all pretty simple and correct. And had been running fine for months (6 or more). I’ve been pretty busy lately so I put it on the shelf to deal with later. Well before I could get too worked up about it, BAM. All of my Z-Wave devices are now gone! I also lost all of my ping sensors. Those are still there but they show the blank blue ball and nothing else aside from the name. No way to tell if they are working then.No scenes involving them run. Nothing. They don’t show up in AutHomation or the dashboard. Could the Z-Wave controller on my unit have gone south?
This very well may be the last straw for me and Vera.
The first thing I would do … and do so so quickly … is to see if there is a backup of your device available when it was working.
These are recycled on the Server … so if it’s been dead a while … the clock is ticking …
Next of course … Since you indicated you were busy … I guess that means not with making changes to Vera.
A ticket to MCV may be in order.
I hope you have done a Z-Wave backup since your last Z-Wave configuration change.
Again and again I am indebted to you. I would have never thought of the Mios backups. Unfortunately I hadn’t made a Z-Wave backup since I added a device but it was only one and I will be able to fix all of this easily. My Z-Wave devices are now all back up and running. I will sit with this for a few days and see how it all pans out.
Well, as of last night my Vera has bought the farm. Luup won’t load. Same as the other recent threads here. Waking up to a cold house wasn’t really impressive to my family. Especially since it was -7? F this morning. I have submitted a ticket. We’ll see what happens here. :
I must say that I’m not happy. I guess Vera will work OK as long as I don’t try to make it do anything.
I would be asking for more detail than just blaming a piece of code. Not to say it’s not the issue but it would help that developer to resolve with more detail. Seems too easy an out for them. They factory reset your box it sounds like because they don’t have an idea what happened I suspect.
I’m not sure how InfoViewer could have caused all of the mayhem that you mention unless you were playing around with some of the advanced screens which it gives access to. Unless you actually use it, InfoViewer just basically sits there and does nothing. Please explain why you suspect InfoViewer as the culprit?
