This week I was on a business trip for a few days when my wife called that ‘things were not reacting anymore’. When I left everything was working as it had been working for a long time. But when I came home yesterday it turned out vera had lost all its settings. Literally from time zone to device names to scene’s and app’s. The connection to all z-wave devices was still present though. I can manually switch things but since the names and rooms have disappeared there is way to tell which device will switch.
What can possibly be the cause for something like this?
Edit: when I log into my account from the vera-interface it says ‘this vera system is not linked to your account. Would you like to add it?’ Apparently it has completely lost its identity.
I hoped that Tech Support would look into the issue last friday. But they didn’t.
I didn’t want to let the house stay unautomated for another week so I decided to take one of the recent online backups and install it. Unfortunately none of the recent online backups seem to work. Vera says that ‘the backup cannot be unpacked’ or something similar. I’m just using the backup that I’ve just downloaded.
The old backup that was on my laptop did work. At least my z-wave devices are named and organized again but I’ve lost all automation.
I’m still hoping that Tech Support is able to put a recent backup back on. Otherwise this is the third time in two years I can reinstall everything.
