We moved into a new house and I finally got it all hooked up with zwave (probably a mix of 80% brand new devices and 20% properly excluded before removing from the old house) and after a factory reset before doing anything got vera playing along beautifully with everything. But suddenly the other day I logged into the UI (7) interface and every single one of my devices except one (which oddly is at the furthest point from vera) is showing “ERROR: Unable to get any information on node…” including the light switch less than 5 feet away from where I have vera plugged in. I tried excluding and re-including the closest switch and still it says it’s can’t communicate. I also did several heals and usually it results in the same, or just one different device working and nothing else. Before when I had everything working in this house the heal report gave 5 stars across the board for everything in the house but now nothing but a bunch of “No” symbols or the occasional 1 star. I have also tried moving vera to different rooms and still same results.
Kind of not sure where to go from here aside from the trash bin with this stupid thing… does anyone have any ideas?
Be sure to include your Vera unit serial number and the tech support access code. You can enable it by going to Customer Care > Tech Support and then clicking on the Enable button at the bottom of the page. We’ll look into it right away and get back to you shortly.
While the trouble ticket is “cooking”, I can’t help but think that the problem may be hardware. Back when I replaced the antenna on my Vera3, the little (and I mean tiny) antenna connector would sometimes pop off the board.
It this happened to your unit, it might cause the symptoms you describe, and will cause the support folks fits since they can’t see the physical device.
If you are game, just take apart the case, and look :-). If you press your finger down on the connector and hear it “pop” back into place… I think you found your problem :-).
Had the same thing happen once after adding a device. Restoring a good backup configuration saved the day. This happened once in 5 years of ownership around the 2 year mark - hasn’t happened since. Try a good backup - hope that solves your problem.
