I received my VeraPlus today. Followed the simple startup instructions. The VeraPlus auto downloaded and updated software. I tried a backup restore copy from my VeraEdge but it did not show all my devices and scenes once backup restore was completed. Tried again with same results. Called Vera support and they push a recent backup from their server. In 30 minutes the new VeraPlus was configured with all my devices and scenes from my old VeraEdge. Painless thanks to the support folks.
So far so good.
Setup went without incident. I am coming from a VeraLite that was probably running at the bleeding edge in terms of memory and resources. I have added and removed devices and apps to it over the past 2 years without a reset. My plan is to leave the Lite running and to move devices and configuration to the Plus one at a time.
I have successfully moved a couple of devices from the Lite and a GE Tripper from my Wink Hub. The GE Tripper (Zigbee door/window sensor) is working!!! Hooray! I don’t know if I will be able to remove the Wink Hub completely. The one device I have that I don’t think will work on the Plus is a Quirky Spotter. It’s not a big deal though, the Spotter is not really useful, other than the Temp and Humidity sensors.

Bob,
Do you mean that you added this as a Zigbee device using Zigbee on the plus. If so, I think you are the first to report adding Zigbee.
Yup, Zigbee device working. It is a GE Tripper. It is a very nice looking Zigbee door and window sensor that I was using with my Wink Hub.
I have a couple of GE Link lights that I will try next!

hi Marc, - you referred to a software update for the VeraPlus being live now. Is that a firmware update? The firmware release notes on getvera.com show the last update as having been Jan 21, 2016 (and is the one we were already running).
Just asking because we’ve lost every single one of our battery-powered devices when migrating from a Vera Lite to the VeraPlus (both running UI7). All the other devices and scripts worked, but not our: motion sensors, door/window sensors, temperature sensors, Aeon MiniMote and Jasco Handheld Remote. There were 9 battery-powered devices in all, that just stopped working.
They all DO show up in the Vera web or app interface, but were initially listed as “failed devices”. After spending quite a while last night re-pairing them, most but not all are now recognized and no longer listed as “not connected”. But… not a single one of them is functional anymore!
We’ll probably put in a tech support ticket over the weekend, or might just do a fresh start and rebuild the whole network. Just wondering if there’s any other advice or if this is something that software update you mentioned might fix?
Confirmed! GE Link light added successfully. I needed to reset the bulb to factory first, (you do this by alternately cycling power 3 seconds on, 3 seconds off until it flashes the dims and goes back to full brightness). Once reset it added straight away!
So far the Plus is looking very good! I hope this continues.

Perhaps this is an opportunity to start building a list of Zigbee compatable devices. Can you provide full part numbers of devices after you confirm they work.
For me the set up has not been a straightforward as I hoped.
Sharing my observations below.
When connecting to home.getvera.com, as an existing user I entered in my existing account details but it would just take me to my current Vera 3 UI5 dashboard. There was not ability to add ‘additional controller’
So after doing that a couple of times - it seems I needed to go through the full process of creating a new account - which after entered the details, and clicking Next it promoted me if i had an existing account please add that.
So as mentioned above I do - I entered in my original account details again but it just swirled around telling me it was checking my account. After a long while I gave up and refreshed the browser loading the initial registration form again.
This time I set it up as a brand new controller and created a brand new account, which it seemed to make me do a couple of times
All of these are not a major issue, but it could be a little clearer - especially for those with existing (original) Vera accounts.
After that and clicking on the new dashboard blue button, the green wheel just kept going around and around - not loading the dashboard.
After leaving it for a while I ended up having to refresh the browser again and this time it loaded.
So far not smooth and not very fast either…
Hopefully it’s gets better from here on…
Took a day off, VerPlus now up and running from Vera3 - UI5.
Had Powermax Alarm panel configured on UI5, which had to be upgraded to 1.2 on UI7 on VerPlus.
There was no communication to the Alarm Panel, until existing config was removed pointing to ftdio-sio and added to ftdio-sio 2 specific to the USB port on the VeraPlus.
Amazingly all my amaturish lua scripts transferred across and have not come across any other issues yet. Good so far.
Trying to setup vera plus with this
http://support.getvera.com/customer/portal/articles/1840699-upgrade-from-ui5-on-veralite-vera-2-or-vera-3
When trying to create a new account it says username and email already in use.
Sure it is in use…I can change my username…but not my email ???
Try signing in using the account that the email is tied to. I believe it is complaining because there is already an account with that email address.

Re ZigBee - I have, I think, successfully added a SmartThings Multi Sensor - it correctly went into the door/window category and seems to update fine.
The Vera did thrown up a failed to configure message though and created an erroneous _Scene Controller device so not sure if that was just a pairing issue or more repeatable. This device incorporates a temperature sensor too but that wasn’t detected. Overall I was pleased that ZigBee seems enabled and mostly working.
Bluetooth is detecting devices too although I haven’t had much luck adding anything - tried a Flic button which was my main interest, support for those would be most useful, and a great differentiator for Vera.

@rbakley
I will try, but this is a ui5 account. I think I need a new for ui7.
Thanks

I haven’t had any success with Bluetooth. What are you trying to pair? Does anyone know if you still have to have the Smarthings/ Wink Hub in order to use the sensors/etc?
Received my Vera Plus this week and got it up and running very easily. I’m doing the slow migration from my Vera3 but so far so good. Kind of liking UI7, very different from UI5 though.
Camera’s were added very easily as well as all my nest products.
I’ll have to start working on the door/window sensors and Sonos next and dread moving all my custom scenes…
One thing I have noticed is that the Vera app for UI7 (android) doesn’t show streaming video from my cams link it does in UI5? I’m running Hikvision cams, anyone had issues with these in UI7?
The Flic button is what I hoped to use. In adding a BT device I had five entries discovered but none had a name - they looked like MAC addresses . One had another string of hex digits in the name field but I had difficult knowing quite what any of them were . They all failed to configure

I posted a clarification last night. The update has been active. The current firmware version for the VeraPlus is 1.7.1754. Check under Settings → Firmware.
If you submit a Customer Care ticket please CC me so I can escalate it for you.

UI5 accounts do not work with UI7. They run on completely different backends that do not communicate with each other at all. A new user ID is required for UI7. Sorry for the confusion.
Hello All,
I also received my Vera Plus today. I’m going to upgrade from Vera 2 UI5. I’m still not running. I have created a new account for the plus and followed the intitial instructions. And during the process the Vera updated the firmware. Now it says through the home.getvera.com that the firmware is up to date. But the Vera now stays “offline”. I cannot access it and the lack of manual is bit frustrating. I don’t know what the unit is doing, but all but one LED is on and the internet LED is flashing. Guess its normal. I have even tried to figure out how to reset to factory to start all over but there are no instructions about this (manual)
Cheers
Internet light should be on solid. It may just be having trouble connecting to Vera’s servers to update the firmware. I am sure they are getting a workout as everyone is probably setting up their systems today!
Either give it some more time or try power cycling the unit. The normal setup is for Vera to pull an IP address from your router using DHCP. Can you check in your router to find the address that the Vera is assigned to? You can find the Vera MAC address on the bottom label to find the correct IP address listed in your router. If so, try putting the address in your browser to see if the Vera is up and running, just not connected to the internet.
