Vera not finding updates

I have a constant problem with my Vera not finding updates. Right now it claims 1.7.439 is the latest version. Last time Support sent me a download link to be put in the custom firmware field.

Does anyone have the link for the 7.0.4 release which just came out?

Not happy with Vera right now…

They are not publishing updates the same time for all users so you need to wait till it will be available for you. From what I see 7.0.4 is supposed to be published somehow now, so probably we will see it soon.

7.0.4 is not out yet. The Release note just got put up on the website yesterday and VERA posted that it would take 24 to 48 hours to get it out. On top of that, like what was already posted it doesn’t magically hit everyone at once. Your Vera is the same as the rest of just, just relax.

Also if you notice on the release notes they don’t even have the version number put on it and it will be different for EDGE, or LITE/vera3. Who know which will come out first either.

The OP has pointed out that their Vera is indicating that 1.7.439 (7.0.2) is the latest version - which is exactly the same as what my Vera3 reports.

For some reason our Veras (and many others, as previously reported in this forum) have not picked up version 1.7.481 (7.0.3) released on December 19 2014. Instructions have been posted (with a web link to the firmware download location) to force a manual firmware update - but having to do that doesn’t address the question as to why Vera isn’t picking up that update automatically. My guess is that because 7.0.3 was not identified as a “General Availability Release”, it is not intended to be installed on everyone’s Vera and hence that is why they don’t get updated automatically. Since yesterday’s 7.0.4 was also not identified as a “General Availability Release”, perhaps that version will also require a forced manual update of the Vera firmware if you want to run it.

Seems they have further updated the release notes for the new update. It now shows
UI7 ▾ Version 7.0.4 (1.7.513/1.7.957) ▾ FEB 04, 2015 06:08PM UTC

So sounds like you have a vera lite or 3 and should be looking for 1.7.513 but I have not heard of anyone getting the update yet and I know on my EDGE I haven’t seen the update.

A call to tech support got me the upgrade which hasn’t been released yet due to “issues”. They did update my unit but now it only works locally after the update and not remotely. Currently looking into that.

Is there some reason why UI7 wouldn’t show as available for my vera? I’m still getting:

Checking if there is a newer firmware version available…
You are running the latest version: 1.6.641

I know everyone is complaining about UI7, but I’m ready to make the jump.

Vera is NOT promoting upgrades for UI5 or UI6 …
Believe me you do not want to upgrade yet … If you feel you must … search for links on how to upgrade UI5 top UI7.

This is the link that Richard is speaking of. It is posted at support.getvera.com.

7.04 has been pushed out. It will be a cascading roll out.

Mine is upgrading. Doing it remotely. I do like to live dangerously.

Edit: Success, but I had to go and unplug it and wait a long time for it to boot. Fortunately my trip was short to access. Looks like If you don’t have a way to cycle power, don’t remotely update your unit.
