I though if a sensor is armed and get tripped, it will send notification to the vera mobile app, but looks like it is not that case. I’m using veralite with the latest UI7. I set the away mode to arm all sensors and send notification to my account. I have a separate scene and select notify me when garage door tilt sensor tripped.
I can receive almost instant mobile app push notification when the garage door opens, but never receive notification from other sensors. If I log in vera and check alerts, the dashboard does have alerts with type of burglary and camera sent snapshots, but my mobile app doesn’t receive any notification.
Do I really need to add scenes to push notification to mobile app?
Thankfully, you must setup a notification for the desired sensor. This doesn’t have to be a scene, it could be the device itself, a trigger and even the mode.
I’d hate to be getting notifications every time someone walks through a room opens/closes a door. There are dozens of sensors that I never need to hear from.
I thought the arm state of a sensor is to decide which sensor you want to receive notifications, which means you decide which sensor to arm and then they will send you notification when tripped so no undesired notification. But the issue here is the armed sensors don’t push notification to my phone even the type is burglary, I need to log in to check alerts they issued, which doesn’t make sense. Only the scene I choose to notify me send push notification to my phone for now.
Thank you for the link. I know how to set up a notification separately, just don’t understand the logic that even an armed sensor need to set up notification rules to push notifications to cell phone… I thought the notify user option in the Modes setting should be the place one click for all, maybe I thought it wrong or that is bug which suppose to have all armed sensor push notification
