Howdy All,
I have to say that my frustration level with Vera has been on the increase lately. The latest event occurred today while I was struggling to get an Everspring leak sensor to associate correctly, which involved including and excluding the sensor twice, and when working on attempt number three, my Vera Lite decided that it no longer wanter to power on using battery power.
Now mind you, I’ve been adding devices for over a month now, one or two at a time, (for a total of about 30 devices)learning about each sensor/switch/thermostat and how it works and learning to troubleshoot them when they don’t work as they should (something that occurs frequently, and something this forum has been very helpful with; thanks), and I’ve never had a problem getting Vera to power up on batteries… until this last attempt.
Pressing and holding the battery button gave me the blue led flash… which it did for a couple of minutes, and then… nothing. It went dead. I changed the batteries (twice), and still nothing.
Vera still will come to life and operate properly when plugged in. (I was able to “include” and “exclude” with the power plugged in.) All of the nodes function properly and my logging doesn’t show anything unusual. I’
ve tried two or three times again and still no life when I press the battery button.
Researching this forum indicates that I’m not the only person who has had this happen, and from what I can tell, the answer is the three-letter word “RMA”.
But I thought I’d ask before I opened a trouble ticket and prepared for the inevitable unit exchange… any ideas?
BTW - Still not getting the flood sensor to work right. But then, that’s another frustration and another thread…
