Vera Lite - issues with saving

I have a Vera Lite, with about 50 devices (plugs & lights), Nest plugin, 4 door locks, DSC Alarm plugin, Denon AV plugin, System Monitor plugin, and PLEG.
It’s been running really well for the last year. Just recently, when I try making changes - adding/deleting scenes, or changing triggers, etc… - after I press SAVE in top right, the unit reloads, but the changes do not “stick”. If I make the changes again, immediately after and then press SAVE again, it will usually save. I’m just not sure why I have to press SAVE twice and sometimes, even then, it doesn’t save. I know that memory is usually the culprit. But how can I be sure?
When I login to the box, and do “df” the results are:

Filesystem 1K-blocks Used Available Use% Mounted on
/dev/root 4608 4608 0 100% /rom
tmpfs 31240 504 30736 2% /tmp
tmpfs 512 0 512 0% /dev
/dev/mtdblock7 11264 2024 9240 18% /overlay
overlayfs:/overlay 11264 2024 9240 18% /
/dev/sda1 507744 18860 462670 4% /tmp/log/cmh
/dev/mtdblock8 4480 4480 0 100% /mios

My System Monitor reports usually close to or over 100%
My memory stats show:
Total 62480
Free 4868
Cached 13552
Available 18420

I’m already using a USB drive for log files.
I’m running UI5 (1.5.344)
Should I do a reset to factory defaults? Can I backup and restore everything easily?

I have a variable container plugin as well that stores a timestamp of an event that runs daily. I notice that when my unit fails to save my changes and I check the timestamp stored in my variable container, the date is a couple weeks old - as if the unit is restoring an earlier backup?!?

These symptoms suggest you have run-out of available memory or flash storage. This can sometimes be fixed by removing a plugin device and deleting any unused plugin files before doing the Save/Reload. It requires a little knowledge of which files do what and the use of a program like WinSCP. Vera Support have performed the clean-up for some users so you could try sending them an email or raising a ticket.

The long-term solution is to move to a unit with more memory. If you want to stay with UI5, a Vera 3 would be an option. If you are prepared to move to UI7, Vera Edge would be more cost-effective.

If your system cannot save its configuration, it may not save a good backup. Vera Support is your best bet for releasing the deadlock.
