Pardon my ignorance… The documentation for the vera light seems to imply that you can unplug the device. Then with no power press the button and it will power up on battery.
Mine will not power up unless I hold down the button and as soon as I let go it powers off - meaning the button must be held the whole time. Is this how the device is supposed to function? Or is it supposed to power on and stay on after you press and release the button?
On the other hand, I have found that I can press and hold the button while the device is active and on the adapter, then unplug the adapter and the device will continue to stay running off the battery. I can then add / remove devices and get back to the adapter and plug it back in and finally release the battery button. Is this a bad thing? Or the intended function?
