Vera Lite and batteries

Hi,

Having just received my Vera Lite (and whilst waiting for my first zwave module to arrive), I was wondering if someone is able to answer this question.

Can you leave the batteries permanently installed in the Vera Lite, or do you need to install them only if you need to take it to a zwave device to associate? And if you can leave them in permanently, will the Vera Lite continue to work (i.e. without a reboot) if you switch to battery operation?

I leave mine in - seems to do no harm - but no, if you unplug the power Vera does not stay active. Battery power seems to be purely for association duties.

Aww, that’s a shame, it would have been nice if you could switch to battery operation and back again without the VL restarting.

Agree, wished it had been designed that way since it takes forever for the OS to boot and load the Vera application.
