Vera integration with alarm panel?

Is there a relatively inexpensive alarm panel that can be easily integrated with Vera?

I bought a new home that has an old Ademco hardwired system installed. I’m not really interested in paying for monitoring, but it’d sure be nice to take advantage of all these sensors everywhere.

I see there’s an “AD2USB” device ($88) that can get my panel talking to a computer. In fact, some people have put this device onto routers so it can probably be plugged straight into Vera and scripted. But if there’s some other inexpensive panel available that’s already got some plugin support it might be better to go that route than invest the time making an AD2USB interface. Thoughts?

There are 3 options for this:

If you search the forum, you’ll see various threads discussing each.

The panel can be replaced for cheap money. Your current sensors can be used.

Considering your question, there are also many other interesting posts in the thread, (please read http://forum.mios.com/index.php?topic=5996.msg35643#msg35643 by @danb35).
Personally I just bought the DSC panel.
