I have a vera 3 running ui5 that has worked fine for a few years now but the last few months has been locking up and becoming unresponsive. I show it has the latest firmware and backs up daily. When I log in and try to switch on a device I get a “sending z-wave” command and then waiting for node to reply message 5 times and then a “red timed out waiting for node to reply” message. If I reboot vera she will work fine again for a few days but not a full week before this happens again. Any insight or help on this matter would be great. I wonder if it was an update that caused the change in her consistent performance or ?
It’s possible an update did this. I couldn’t say for sure but log a ticket with support. Check on the amount of free memory when you notice the problem happen. You should be able to SSH in and check this. There are threads on it if you are unsure.
Also, check for general cleanup of apps you installed but don’t use. I have read virtual switches cause a performance drain as well so if you are running that. Maybe any other apps that were more designed for UI6/7 that are working but not working well in UI5 anymore.
Do you have a lot of PLEG? Any other general troubleshooting would be needed. You should be able to check your live logs when you notice the problem as well. Use this URL: http://your.vera.ip.address/cgi-bin/cmh/log.sh?Device=LuaUPnP
