Vera Edge video storage, what does it include by default

Im an x10’r converted recently to a vera edge and insteon adapter to run my x10 modules. I also have a few IP cameras, most recently I’ve been buying the 1080p from Amcrest and used Foscam 720p before that.

I can get my cameras to show in my vera web interface and iOS app, and it show and option to record but I cannot find any information about this. What are the native recording capabilities and where is this video stored?

Vera has no storage and there is a limited amount of cloud storage that has been found to be not so secure. I suggest you look for several other posts on this cloud storage topic.

Also I’m sure other will repeat but VERA is a home automation controller not a camera system nor a DVR. People do use some of it’s video options but it is very limited, not very good and not designed to be either of those things. I would recommend using some other DVR or Camera system for cameras (which could be shared or tied into vera also) and keep vera doing what it was designed to do. Home Automation.
