Took it out of the box today, plugged in. Ethernet cable, plugged in the power, and… Nothing. All lights lit up for a second, then they all went out. After about 2-3 minutes, just the internet and wifi lights came on and were blinking. Should I try and return this thing and get a Vera 3?
Bought one as christmas gift for my brother since mine went so smoothly weeks before, but… not so much. You are describing the exact same scenario he has. I came from a Vera 2 that’s been acting wonky for months, so this was great for me. Too bad his experience is so poor as is yours.
Hello,
I have exactly the same problem.
It is frustrating …
Just got mine today also.

Plug it in all lights light up for a few seconds then it GOES DARK for about a minute. Then the wifi and the LAN link go steady.
I added it to Vera Account and first it never redirected…
Then I loged back into my account and I see this:
Name Serial Wi-Fi SSID Default Wi-Fi Password
45001020 mios_45001020 power85father
In my WiFi on the PC the WI network shows mios_someotherBSnumber
I try and connect to the wifi with the default wifi passwd above and even the “home id number” on the back of the edge.
not working.
Garbage.

OK by btches and jackbags.
I left a message for Vera support and they called me back.
Turns out that everyone initializing a new controller over the last few days sucked down a corrupt image from the vera servers and f’d there systems.
The support guys have to load 1 image on and reboot and load another image on and reboot.
takes about 20 min.
CALL THEM AND GET YOU SH!T FIXED.
OvernOut.
Man this forum is AWESOME! I will call them when I finally get some time and report back!
Just called Vera today. Someone actually answered and instructed me on how to open a remote session on my desktop. They then proceeded to upgrade the firmware on the Vera Edge. Boom, problem solved! Added a lamp module with no problems! So far so good!
