Vera Edge Plus Ordered - what to do with Vera 2?

ok - so the Edge plus is ordered and will be here soonish hopefully but just wondering what the general consensus id about what to do with the vera2 which is literally on its knees with the load i put on it.

I run quite a few various plugins and circa 25 physical devices and a number of virtuals.

house isn’t big enough to “need” two vera’s on different floors and my first thought is just to migrate the lot to the vera plus but wondering if its worth utilising both in some way

I’m pretty sure you can connect two controllers as primary and secondary and they will communicate with each other.

open to suggestions/ ideas?

Just use the new unit. Doesn’t sound line a need for bridging

Don’t get ahead of yourself.

When Vera Plus is working to your satisfaction, throw Vera 2 in the garbage. I can’t believe taht tis is a public question.

I actually had the same thought. I was considering using one controller for Z-Wave and moving all of the IP systems and datamine to a separate controller. The veralite worked good before I put the alarm system, hue bulbs, AV receivers, and of course datamine on it. Now it’s just about out of magic smoke.

glad not just me then - i have quite a few IP based tasks so thought it may make sense but don’t really know how they will play together. if its really not needed then ill be happy not to use the vera2.

I’m always having to prioritize and remove plugins on the vera2

Well it is a VERA 2… You were over due for a hardware upgrade years ago. If things even ran on a 2 you should need a PLUS and a two running similer tasks. Just put it all on one.

ha - maybe that is fair but support were always quick to tell me the hardware was absolutely fine with my setup

Use the other to corrupt a co-worker or family member? That’s basically how I got my Vera 3.
