I have a Vera Edge which crashed yesterday while attempting to re-configure a number of devices which were lost after a repair/heal post adding the last 3 thermostats. We have 22 thermostats and approx 50 zwave lighting modules/switches plus home theater management through interface with Harmony Hub. The system had generally worked well except is intermittently unstable.
I’ve tried a factory reset per the many described ways but to no avail. I’ve read many posts about the glitches of the vera edge and the issues regarding resets. For example, it takes “overnight” for the controller to reset and mine never did. Thankfully we are NOT using the vera for security/fire as it is not reliable enough. I also just noticed that Amazon is no longer offering the product saying “it is not currently offered by Amazon.com because customers have told us there may be something wrong”.
My question is two fold, is this product still in a prototype mode? Assuming my issue get resolved (waiting for mios support to respond) does it make sense to incorporate two vera edge systems (primary and secondary) in order to have a backup? OR do you suggest scraping the edge and moving back to the vera 3 or simply find a replacement product?
