Out of the blue I am having trouble getting access to Vera.
I am trying access through findvera.com as I am remote from the unit, and thus cannot easily reboot and/or reset the unit.
After logging in to findvera.com I get the following message:
Version: 1.0.996
Checking internet connection …
Loading timezones.json …
Loading local database …
Loading sysinfo …
timezones.json loaded
Internet check status: ok

Vera busy, retrying …

NO RESPONSE
I was able to access last week. Although I changed the setting to require access through findvera.com only (and thus no local network access), I was able to access the unit afterwards and have not changed anything since.
Any thoughts on the cause and/or how to resolve this?
If Vera does not have an Internet connection you will get this message, are you able to check?
Is this a Vera 1 with the dongle?
This was an issue I had in the past with Vera rebooting and not being able to distinguish which port the dongle was in. If the Internet is up then this could be the issue and may resolve itself after a few reboots.
Otherwise and I know you are remote…
Do you have something else plugged into the other USB port? If so, remove it and reboot, if not try plugging the dongle into the other USB port.
I am still getting the original error messages, occasionally followed by:
“Communication error while retrieving local database, retrying …”
Although I am not at the house, I understand that the Vera router is dropping its wireless signal regularly - every 20 mins or so before reconnecting 5 mins later. Not sure if this is related but seems possible.
There is nothing plugged into the other USB port and the Z-wave dongle has not been moved.
Is there anything I can do remotely?
