Vera and XBox Live

Is there anybody out there who is using the Vera box as their primary router and is successfully connecting to XBox live – and not getting the strict NAT error which basically prohibits most multi-player gaming? (Meaning, you’ve opened ports successfully in the OpenWRT interface and/or successfully installed the UPNP packages.) I’d definitely love to hear the secret of your success.

Part 2: Is there a particular router that works best if I moved Vera back inside of my network - not looking to bridge, just have Vera sit and provide Zwave services to the house? Is there a particular feature such a router MUST have or be able to do. I previously had issues with Vera connectivity with the outside world that I couldn’t get around when I ran Apple Airport on the front end.

I haven’t had any issues accessing my Vera - 1st I had it behind an APple Airport, now, it’s connected via wireless to my Airport which is behind an Ooma (VOIP Phone adapter). Are you using findvera.com, or trying to connect directly to it from offsite?

My primary router is a Linksys (WRT54GL … very common model) and I get that message all the time with Xbox Live. UpnP is enabled on it. Seems to work fine anyway so I haven’t worried about it much.
