Vera Alerts Android Client 3.02

I hope I have now fixed the problems with accessing Pictures and Videos attached to alerts.

I previously used a quick solution, and around the time I released the code, MCV added more forwarding servers … Now I use the published process!

Sorry it took so long … I have had some other priorities.

Still need to work at improving the video frame rate.

Let me know how it works …

Keep up the good work, appreciated

Hi Richard
How do I view the video…mx player says it cant play the file on my android device

Use the Vera Alerts app to view the file.

Tried that too and nothing but a white screen with control buttons on the bottom…it could be my connection tho

Not sure if this is related, but I noticed that local network connection is not working… What can I send you to help diagnose if necesary?

Richard

i have the same, only the white mediaplayer with control buttons shown below. no video or pictures available.

do we need to upgrade the VeraAlert app on the VERA as well?

You need VeraAlerts 3.0 plugin in the Vera side.
You need Vera Android 3.02

Get the pictures working first … they are standard jpg files. Lots of applications should be able to read these … including the Vera Alerts Application.

Do you have a File explorer on your Phone ?
Do you have any files in:
/sdcard/Pictures/VeraAlerts/

If not then there is a communications problem …
If you have any jpg file you should be able to open it with Vera Alerts. (Use the open with option if you already have a default application for jpg files).

Hi Richard
I have tried the Picture option and still the same result…the pictures/veraalerts folder is empty as well.
I have entered my login details correctly…any ideas what could be the issue?

I guess I will have to add some local logging options so I can see what’s happening.
But the fact that the folder is empty tells me that it’s a communications problem.

Are you sure the UserId, Password, and Serial number are all correct ?
This fetches the data through CP.MIOS.com and needs all of that info to locate your vera. A picture is too big to send with the message … so I have to go back and fetch it.

Yes I am certain the login details are correct

Edit: just tried to double check the settings but the Vera alerts app on my galaxy s 2 crashes whenever I try to enter the settings page

Make sure you send a crash report … I can lookup the problem and fix that too …

I sent a few

I have some problems to to open the picture.

It is send by the Vera alerts 3.0 app.
And I recieve a sound on my Google nexus (android 4.2.2)
Sometimes the picture shows, but most of the times the picture can’t be found.
It even isnt in de folder /sdcard/Pictures/VeraAlerts/

Is there a way to check what is going on (android app)

Andr?

I have to add some debugging to the app to see why the connection is not working.

I have a problem receving messages.
I can recive internal messages but aperntly not process notifications.
My phone provider called “3”, in Denmark, does not offer email to sms. No other provider in Denmark does, I am told. Is this the problem ?
However I should be able to recive standard sms from US.
Maybe I have done somthing wrong in my settings ?

CE

Does this mean you get messages like Vera Startup ? In Vera Settings ... toggle the Process Notifications and Internal Alerts settings. At times the initial settings do not get set properly ... and even though they show checked ... they really are not.

Thanks Richard
I will try again.
Yes, I can get a message when vera starts.
I thought the other messages was sent over MCV. It seems I cannot get them.

Carl Erik

No, it still does not work.
I can send a test but I am not notified by devices.
They are in the notification configuration and the proces notification is checked.

Hi Richard
It seems that I am still having issues with {timestamp} function as aux message. I am using the lastest versions as far as I’m aware
