Vera 3 reliability issues

Hello everyone, I have a Vera 3 system installed with 4 light modules (2 home pro + 2 Aeon). I live in a small 3 bedroom apartment, and I’m frustrated with my setup. I can’t get 1 straight week with all 4 plug in modules to work properly. There usually is 1 or 2 that fail, and it’s not always the same one. I have started from scratch 4 times already, and I have achieved flawless operation for a couple of days, and right when I think that the system is finally robust and reliable, random modules start failing and coming back to functioning properly after a while. Is there any tips you can give me to achieve a reliable network that works well at least 90% of the time?

thank you all for your help on this subject.

What kind of failure are you seeing? Are you seeing errors in the Vera UI stating that it can not communicate with the module or are you seeing failures when turning on the module it will not send the request? Have you tried running a zwave heal?

Hello Garret, thank you for your reply. I have used the zwave heal function but haven’t noticed any difference. Murphy’s law has struck as usual and now my system works great with no errors, so I will have to wait a couple of days before I can tell you exactly what the failure is. I’ll get back to you when I check this. BTW, 99% of the time I use my iphone’s iVera app so it just shows a red light, I’ll have to check the main vera page when the failure occurs.

best regards and thanks again for your help.

Regarding Garret’s suggestion would proposed that if this is a recurrent problem, that you run z-wave heal with the “Only update MiOS routing (overrides other settings)” unchecked. This would ensure that all devices get re-configured. It sounds like a configuration problem to me.

Thanks Don for the tip. I just checked and it so happens to be that I already have that option unchecked.

Nickson-

I thought it was a long shot but hoped it would help.
