Vera 3 Lite - New user question

Just set up my Vera3 lite - it was simple, no problems, the firmware upgrade was easy. The only z-wave device I got, a Aeon Door Sensor, works well - took a bit to associate it (I think I had to wake it up for 10 min) but that did it. I’m don’t want a router or whatever, just the home-auto capabilities, so that was pretty simple. I got a F18918W camera, looking forward to that tomm.

So my only real question at this point is what is up with the logging, or “My Alerts”. I go to a device, and hit “Logs”, expecting to see a list of alerts. My email notifications are occurring nicely, so that is awesome, but I am a bit confused. And I don’t mean the detailed linux low-level logs, I mean just a “I fired at this time” log. The triggers have a “last fired”, but that’s not in any way historical. Do I need to turn something on?

Also, I have a device pinned in “No Room”. I have a room created, how do I pin it there, or “move it”?

This is a known and resolved bug regarding alerts that will be available in a future firmware version. This version will be released to the public next week and after upgrading the firmware you should have the problem solved. As a workaround until the firmware is available, go to Users/My alerts, uncheck the Unread only checkbox and you should see the notifications.

You can move the device in a specific room by opening the device cpanel (click on the little wrench key) and in the upper right of the window open you should find a “Room” dropdown list. From there select the room you want, close the device cpanel, then SAVE. After saving you should see your pinned device in the selected room.

OK, this morning I was getting “My Alerts” in the device logs list, including all my last-night events. I never got them last night, but this morning there are a bunch.
However this morning, email notifications have stopped - I had set 200 email notification limit last night, since I reached 20 fairly quickly. I saved it… but this morning I’m not getting email notifications… it’s a new day… no matter what the limit, it should have reset. So my “leaving” this morning should have showed up. it does show up in the trigger log as a single “last triggered @ 7:25am this morning”, but no email. Thoughts?

“My alerts” has no time stamp, not that I see at least, either in the first list, to he drill down that lists more details - but not the time. Am I missing it?

Unfortunately not being able to set the notification limit is another bug in this firmware, and also the alerts timestamp too. The whole alerts/notifications/logs stuff is pretty broken in this firmware. They have been fixed though.

OK, then two questions:

 • how do I start getting notifications again? It flipped over to a new day, does it ever start again?
 • when is that new firmware out?

Carl

@MCVflorin: its a bit strange that I find out in this post that there is a bug in the notification section, whereas I have posted this earlier on (see http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,9461.msg63038.html#msg63038

I have also opened a ticket@technical support but also there I go not feedback on this one.

Glad to hear that this will be solved in next weeks firmware upgrade

The new firmware update from today seem to have solved the maximum email issue. I received more then 20 emails for the first time i bought Vera ;D
