I have a Vera 3 (1.5.254) and can’t get the correct time to stick. If I change it, it changes right back in about 30 seconds to GMT. I have it set for EST (Indianapolis).
When changing the time, are you hitting the save button at the top right corner?

Yes. The time updates in the corner after the save and then reverts back to GMT in about 10 seconds.
I was having the same issue while using the Indiana/knox timezone. The time would jump 6 hours ahead of what it should have been. I switched to the Chicago time zone which is also central and now everything works fine. Seems to be something with the Indiana time zone.
We noticed this issue and fixed it. It will be available in the next firmware, which will be released next week.
Vera automatically syncs the time over the Internet, even if you set it by hand, that’s why we’ll remove that option in case your Vera unit has Internet access.
Beside this, the time on the unit and the one you see it on the unit dashboard is generated by the Timezone. If the timezone is wrong, you’ll see the time with several hours after or before your correct time (for Australia it will be also with 30 minutes increment).
In your case an erroneous timezone was set on the unit, which made the unit to revert to GMT.
Did the firmware with the fix get posted yet please?
I just received my new VeraLite today and the first thing it did was a firmware update (to version 1.5.254). Now I’m trying to set my time zone to Indiana / Indianapolis and it’s +5 hours out of whack. Seriously? I thought I was upgrading my Z-Wave network with the inclusion of this controller but I can’t even set the thing up to control my porch light because it can’t tell time!!
Wife not happy = me very not impressed with Vera right now.
No, the fix will be present in the upcoming firmware release. Until then, choose other UTC-5 timezone, like New York. Only the timezones that contain a slash ( / ) are affected, so choose a timezone that doesn’t contain a slash.
