I’m a newbie and just getting initiated into the world of HA. Did some research and bought a Vera 3 and updated to version 1.5.254. I also bought a couple of devices to play around. An EZmotion 3in1 controller and a Fibaro relay switch. I have been able to make them work, after trying for a few days. I have a few issues though and would be grateful for some help.
After including these devices, configuring them and then pinning them to the room, it resets after a while. All the devices get associated to “no room”. I’ve not been able to figure out what triggers this yet. Do I need to do anything more to get them to maintain state?
EZmotion sensor: while it sends back correct readings on Light and Temp, the primary device continues to display “Waiting for wakeup to configure device”. Should I be worried about this? how do I resolve? Screen shot of device options attached.
Google Weather: I downloaded the plugin from the app store, created a device and seen it report the weather, as described. But then it vanishes. When I go back to the plugin, it has no device associated with it.
When you assign the devices to the room, did you click on the red save button at the top right corner?
It takes time for battery operated devices to be set up. Just to let you know there are issues with the 3 in 1 sensor in UI5. There are multiple posts about this.
when I add Google weather, it knocks off all my devices. Cant see any on the devices tab for a while. All of them reappeared after about 10 minutes, but not pinned to the room, but under the “no room” section. I had these devices pinned and saved multiple times.
Could Vera be polling to find Zwave devices, after the weather app knocks them off and potentially not being able to associate them with the previously pinned room?
@nair,
For the last problem you describe, relating to the Weather App knocking off everything else, I highly recommend contacting the Micasaverde Support team.
There’s something seriously amiss with UI5 if that’s going on… since it should never be possible for any plugin to impact the system that way (esp one like Weather, which is basically display-only)
The EZ motion sensor is sometimes hard to configure.
I saw that you set the “stay awake” value to 0.
Don’t forget, this setting eats batteries. Maybe your batteries are already empty.
It’s better to hook up a power supply, i did this and that works fine !!
You also have to exclude and reinclude your device again after setting this value to 0.
Some valueble information on the link below.
I bought a veralite and upgradet it to the latest software 1.5.254. Now I am trying to add Fibaro roller shutter. Unfortunately this doen’t work and I don’t have the slightest clue what to do ???
What I have done so far: After installing one fibar roller shutter I tried to add them by setting veralite into “add-modus” and switched to roller up/down (which did not work; is this normal? afting adding a fibar switch one cannot operate the system manually bevor adding it to the z-wave network?) and pressed the “B” button.
I have a Vera3 and almost all my installation is based on fibaro modules.
What I did was set vera on add module state (devices → add Devices → add Zwave devices (…) → option 1) and then clicked quite fast, 3 times in a row the first button of the fibaro module. After that, vera should blink fast and detect the roller module.
If that didn’t work, maybe is because you added that module to another zwave network before, so after you click the option 1 button in the add zwave devices section, go to “I’m activating the device but it is not adding to the list” link. It should take you to exclude mode. Click three times in a row the roller module, and it should say on the upper side of your screen, in the notification area that the module has been excluded. Then try to include it again.
I’ve received also my VeraLite yesterday with 2 roller shutter modules.
Also I did have some difficulties in adding the module, but after a few tries I ended up being successful.
My advice to a2933390 is to first put the module working in manual, i.e. you should be able to move up/down your shutter just by pressing your usual shutter buttons. Check your wiring again.
Next put Vera in the searching mode and the Fibaro Module in “add mode” by pressing the pushbutton B (placed on a small hole) three times. Repeat the operation if you are not successful the first time. Don’t forget that Vera should be no more then one meter from the Fibaro device.
Hope this helps,
Regards,
