Vera 2 ui4 not responding

In the year or so I have been using Vera this is the 3rd time it appears to be offline. (The router is working fine). As I am 4000 miles from the Vera, I cannot reset it until my next trip …

Is there a way to get to the Vera remotely?

Is there a way to set it up so at power cycles every 24 hours?

There are various levels of not working:
Network Not Working (Including Router)
Vera Software Not Working
Unix Kernel on Vera Not Working

There are posts on how to reboot vera from LUUP code.
If you think it’s not running … but the linux kernel is … then you can create a cron job to
run at a certain time and reboot the machine. Vera3 uses a cron job to rotate the logs.
I am not sure what UI4 uses. You would have to merge your request with the existing ones.

If the Linux box is hung or the routers are hung you might need to reboot them.
If that’s the problem … then you might want to invest in a network attached power cable:
See: webpowerswitch.com #6.

This device has PING sensing built in. If it can’t ping Vera you can reboot it.
If it can’t ping Google … you can reboot the router and cable modem.
There is even a Vera Plugin to control this. So you can have vera control other things …
assuming it’s working

If it’s a nice rental maybe you can get a Forum member to take care of your problem for the use of the property for a day or weekend

My level of IT knowledge is too low to do any of the things you suggested, but here is what I have noticed:

I can get to the network and the IP camera I have set up there, so the router is still working.

Oddly, when I click on “camera” on the VERA UI I can still view the pictures the IP camera keeps taking every 15 Minutes. So VERA must still be working. I just can’t get to the dashboard.
