I have sold my Vera 2 to a new owner and hope to install my new (competitor’s) home controller this evening. I know I need to “exclude” all of my devices from the Vera network and then restore the Vera to factory defaults, but do I need to do anything to “de-commission” the links my unit has with MCV servers so that the new owner can set up his own account?
Thanks in advance for any help,
bob
@FlyBoyBob,
Possibly the script mentioned in this thread (and originally brought up by @cj) will do the trick?
Thanks @oTi but I’m one of those LinuxPhobes that has never tried to “SSH into my box”; or even wanted to.
After posting this I explored MyMios a bit and on the first screen noticed the ambiguously labeled “- Remove” tab, which when pressed prompts me with “Are you sure you want to remove the unit?”
I will try that tab (which possibly runs the script(?) mentioned in the referenced post) after doing all the Excludes, clench my buttocks and see what happens…

No SSH required.[/quote]
Assuming of course that VERA_IP is the address on my LAN at home, not remotely - for those in future who read this thread and didn’t know that assumption. Yes, I’m anal. ;D
I will try that right after the [- Remove] which hopefully does the same thing.
Thanks again @oTi,
bob
