Vera 2 dead ?

Coming back home, I noticed that only the power and ETH1 leds were on. I tried to connect to the UI4, but without success.

Then, I disconnected and reconnected the power cord, and all the leds turned on. The same happend when using the external battery.

Vera does not accept any connection and the hard reset, with the button on the back panel, deos not work.

What else can I do ? MCH, can you please help ?

The same thing is going on with my Vera 2. Anyone?

I have the exact same problem.
It all started with my vera2 dropping its connection at least twice a day, and after contacting MCV about a week and a half ago, they had me flash to 1.1.1093 , which worked for about a week, then one morning I checked vera to find the z-wave light was off. I power cycled the box and still no z-wave. I can connect to vera over LAN but get a “data not loading error”. So I contacted support again, and they told me everything was fine because my vera checked in with the server earlier that day. After arguing my point and sending some screen shots, I got "Hi,
I’ve just verified in our servers and it looks like the unit was up and it last reported today → AliveDate: 2010-11-12 14:47:40

I will keep the investigations and I will consult with my colleagues regarding this issue.
We’ll notify you as soon as we find a solution for this.

Thank you."

And that’s it… No other word.
Anyone have any ideas?

My advice at this point in time is Homeseer.

JOD.

didnt happen to me yet so far - if it does i will definitely switch to homeseer. JOD let me ask you these questions, you cannot just pair all the existing devices with homeseer’s gateway (or controller) can you? all these devices were included in vera2 network. how do we unpair them with vera if vera is not working? just curious in case i have to switch to homeseer.

Just so everyone that reads this thread knows.

I am not a designated spokesperson for the beta testers

The UNOFFICIAL word from MCV is that Vera is running the way she was designed.
Everyone on the beta testers team is pushing for OFFICIAL responses to some pertinent questions that the team has just asked.
Those answers may dictate which way Vera is seen in the future as a viable 232 device Z-Wave controller.

To unpair any paired device. Use any primary controller or any device that has the ability to include /exclude devices.

It must be possible to get your devices out of V2. I was lucky enough to have a Vera1 with all my devices on it which has been mostly idle since I migrated to Vera2. I’ve only used it when I had to troubleshoot V2 for its many problems. It was relatively simple to use the Aeon dongle from V1 to upload and control all the devices in my new Homeseer installation. Now, V2 and HS both work.

BTW, the scenes do not get transferred via the dongle, and some of the devices don’t retain their names, but that was easy to fix in HS. It’s wonderful to be able to use conditional logic in your scenes with HS!

@CMRancho

Should we start a new thread?
How to make the migration from Vera to Homeseer?

JOD.

The problems with my vera2 z-wave light being off, was apparently due to a file not loading. Finally got some help from MCV tech support and now I am up and running.
From MCV:
"The reason you got that error was that a file with devices definitions was not loading. I re-installed the firmware since there was no workaround for that. I would like you to re-enable the remote assistance from Advanced > Tech Support and resend the code so I can restore the config file you had before.

Thanks!"

So far so good…
