v1.98 (release hopefully imminent)

Here’s what is new in the upcoming v1.98 release:

HomeWave now has a Today Widget! After adding the Widget in your Today screen, you can add controls to it in HomeWave Settings->General. IMPORTANT: controls on the widget cannot be protected by PIN, and the Today screen is accessible on a locked iPhone by default. Keep this in mind when adding controls to your door locks. (requires iOS8). To configure the Today widget, go to Settings->General in HomeWave.

HomeWave has support for Touch ID, on devices with a fingerprint scanner (requires iOS 8). You can enable this in Settings->General in HomeWave. Keep in mind that you still need to specify a PIN in order for Touch ID to work!

There a a few new options to alter the appearance of controls. For more details, see here: http://www.intvelt.com/wordpress/advanced-control-properties/

Added an option to lock HomeWave in Portrait or Landscape orientation.

Added support for the OpenSprinkler plugin (add zones as on/off switches, and use a Multi Button control to control the operating mode)

Supports iPhone 6(+) native resolutions

Support for PLEG devices. You can add PLEG Event devices as “Sensor Indicator”, and arm / disarm them. They show as Tripped when one or more conditions of the PLEG device have been satisfied.

Now supports the Home / Away status built into UI7. Add a Multi Button control and link it to Vera.

Added % sign to battery level values, and m^3 unit to gas readings from the DSMR plugin in Multi Value controls.

You can now add additional slave devices to Hue / MiLight color controls, to control the color of multiple lights at once.

Fixed an issue where the allowable temperature range for thermostats have to be specified in Celsius, even with the app set to Fahrenheit.

It is now possible to set Action buttons to return to the Home Screen.

Fixes selection of radio playlists in combination with Sonos plugin v1.2

Thanks @intveltr !

2 questions:

  1. Did the ability to control Sleep with the first button of a Multiswitch make it into the release?

  2. What does the toggle switch on the camera screen do? i know it is not new, but i have never figured that out

  1. Yes

  2. In Vera you can associate lights with your camera. If the switch on the camera detail screen is on, those lights will be turned on when you are watching the camera (detail only), and turn off when you are done viewing.

Great, thanks !

Hi Intveltr,

I’ve VeraEdge UI7 with a SRT321 thermostat installed that seems working ok.

In Homewave I see the thermostat but sometimes the setpoint doesn’t change according to Veraedge UI7.

Any idea ?

I’ve noticed that for some thermostats, the UI doesn’t update right away when changing the setpoint in the app. When the thermostat wakes up, it does accept the new setpoint, at which point the UI also updates.

Did you check if the setpiint changes on the actual thermostat?

Hi intveltr,

the setpoint changes in the Vera UI but on the Homewave it seems to change at next wake up of the thermostat.

When 1.98 will be at appstore?

It’s still “in review”. It probably takes a bit longer because of the today widget.

Thanks for submitting this release to the app store! I’m glad to see my request for adding slave devices to Hue lights is in this one.

I appreciate your good work. When can we expect a sneak preview on 2.0?

It’s approved and should appear in the App Store in the next few hours.

I just updated it!

First question about this new release:

I was hoping to be able to add simple controls to the widget that would take me to a specific page in HomeWave. Am I missing something, or is that not possible with the controls available for the today widget?

Invelt!
Very good modifications! Congratulation!

BUT!
IMPORTANT: controls on the widget cannot be protected by PIN, and the Today screen is accessible on a locked iPhone by default!!!
On the lock screen nedd can not pushing the buttons! This is a standard! If i’m loosing my phone then everybody switch my home???
:‘( :’( :‘( :’(

  1. In the application i setting some button color (‘On’ colour is green) The widget screen this buttons colour is white!

Yes, controls on the Today Widget cannot have a PIN! This is in line with Apple guidelines to keep interactions on widgets as simple as possible.

I am looking into a way for the widget to detect if it is running on the lock screen or on an unlocked phone. That way, important controls can be disabled on the lock screen, but enabled everywhere else. Apparently there’s a nasty hack to achieve this.

I’ll look into the color thing, these should be the same in the widget. Are any other colors missing?

Ok, thank you.
I’m using Home Remote, have a today screen and if on the phone have a lock screen, then not to do pushing.

Yes , all widgets only white and blue colours.

You can try to fix the color problem by opening the Color screen in Settings in HomeWave, then closing that screen again.

Not yet possible, it’ll require a change to the Action controls.
