Using "Turn on the lights" when viewing a camera through Vera (1.0.979)

I just experimented with using “Turn on the lights” when viewing a camera through Vera by checking the box “When I view the camera from the web or phone” under that camera. However, it leaves the light on when I do “hide camera”. Bug? Otherwise, how to turn the light off automatically when no longer viewing the camera?

Hi Obelisk,

This “lag” is due to the architecture of this feature. When you click “View Camera” a command to get an image is sent. This image is refreshed at the interval you’ve set, after this, the Vera does nothing for 10-15 seconds until the next image is requested. So basically, the turned on light waits for Vera to stop requesting images from the camera and then it turns off the light.

Thanks for the reply mcvovidiu. I just confirmed what you wrote and it works fine-- I have the interval set to 5 secs but it still took b/t 25-30 secs, which is why I had not seen it happen so far. Many thanks.
