So I was browsing the site and came across a post in regards to using a enerwave smart dual relay switch module (zwn-rsm2) to individually control both outlets in a receptacle. All the responses I saw said it couldnt be done. Well I just wanted to let you know that I’m doing it and it works great. Hers how I hooked it up
First I broke the connectors on the side of the receptacle so the outlets were actually independent
(really I jut broke one of them so I only had to run one neutral wire to the receptacle).
Load 1 to one side of the top outlet
Load 2 to one side of the bottom outlet
Connected the other side of the outlets with the Neutral wire on the relay and then to the white wire coming out of the wall
Connected Aux 1, Aux 2, and the Hot wire from the relay to the black wire coming out f the wall
Works great! As far as the relay is concerned the physical switch that is supposed to be there is just always on and all the switching is done through my vera3.
I had some trouble getting it to fit in the box at first, but once I stuck the relay all the way back in the box behind all the wires (wire side out) it fit no problem.
