I am trying to figure out if there is a way to have a notification sent when a specific user or users log in to the Vera. Likewise, can notifications for other tasks be conditionally sent (like notify me if user “maintenance” changes the thermostat set point, but not if I do).
Sorry if this is covered in another topic. Searching for terms like “user” “login” “event” return almost every post that requires a user login.
If you look in the logs, all the logins are captured there, but I am not sure to what level of detail they are recorded and where (or if they are stored in a log file on the device). - see screenshot you can see ‘login’ as an alert type. I could see a previous login attempt (which inc my source IP)
If you think of Vera as the admin console then whomever has access can pretty much do what they want, so like futzle says I’m not sure if it’s possible at the moment to log what each account does.
A cumbersome workaround might be to create a custom interface / scenes (linked to personal notifications) to capture what each users does, but that would be a fair bit of effort.
Check the log records out via the UI you might find something of use/interest there.
Thank you both for the answers. I was afraid of that. I tried to add a trigger notification based on device #0, the MIOS, while you can select it in the drop down, it fails to bring up any events.
I suspect that, short of trying to read and parse logs, there is not much I can do. Too bad. It seems like a natural security desire especially since there are multiple levels of security and an “administrator” might want an audit of what a “guest” has done. I’ll play some more. If I come up with something I’ll post it.
