I apologize if the solution/discussion to this is found else where, but searching on just the subject term provides only two results, neither of which provide any explanation or solution.
I don’t know when it started (maybe with upgrade to 7.0.15 (2044), or perhaps it was when I jumped from the Edge to the Plus. But now when ever one of my DSC alarm sensors changes state (or I arm/disarm my alarm), I get the subject message on my dashboard.
Everything is working as it should, so it’s just an annoyance to lose screen real estate to a message that is unnecessary. Is this a Plugin or VERA issue?
I believe these are all notifications … and yes it’s absurd …
I only use the UI for configuration so it really does not bother me … But you can always try AltUI
That’s what I thought. And after a closer look at the items on the list, it’s clear this is for non-DSC alarm items (door locks being unlocked). It’s frustrating too, since when I click on the alert/notification, half the time, I’m not ‘logged in’ via the web-portal (only connected directly on the LAN), so it shoots me off to their login portal. Between waiting for that to populate, and redirect me back to the local device, it’s easily 30-60 seconds - at which point I’ve forgotten what I wanted to do. That, and most often the ‘log’ it goes to is empty. Oh well. First world problems, I suppose.
To add to the thread, I’m suddenly seeing these “User Created Trigger Fired” alerts as well for all of my alarm related devices. This is annoying and causing numerous emails to be sent every day as well. The odd thing is that I can’t find the source of these alerts and they didn’t show up in the past. And the device configuration shows no alerts enabled for the device itself and the Notification Settings page shows all my notifications being unchecked.
It’s always dangerous to say that “I didn’t change anything” but as far as I am aware in the past few months I’ve only added one new device and one new scene for some landscape lighting that has nothing to do with my alarm. There may have been a firmware update in their somewhere, but other than that it’s the same config I’ve been running for a while. For the record, I have a Vera3 running UI7, firmware version 1.7.855. And my panel is a Vista with installed EVL3 interface.
Any tips on how to either solve or more importantly debug this?
Solved.
It took some serious searching and reading some super long posts, but root cause is the behavior of notifications in UI7 ‘Home’ mode. Not sure why these suddenly started showing up, but disabled them in Home mode and things are good now.
