I have purchased a dual paddle TZ66-D wall switch and the thing works as “advertised” after reading up on how to get the right paddle to control things here: http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,6254.15.html
I would like to control a couple of scenes with this, but my search for an aswer on how to to this has brought me nothing yet. Anybody out there that know how this can be done?
Thanks,
Thomas
Unfortunately I got the same one and have the same issue. Problem is a serious lack of basic functionality in most z-wave controllers. A logical thing to expect in my mind is that any button can be assigned to a controller and that the controller can uniquely identify the actions on that button and trigger events based upon them regardless of it being a “normal controller” or a “scene controller”.
As far as I have figured out, to get this working with non-scene lesser intelligent buttons (like the TZ66-D) you need to have a controller that supports virtual devices (both in software and in firmware/hardware). You’d have to assign the button to the virtual device and from there trigger events when the virtual device changes status. I’ve yet to find a controller that supports this. Both Vera and AEON Stick S2 seems unable to.
