Hi Vera/Luup/Lua programming gurus…
I’ve been working for the past week or so on implementing some functionality with an LED strip controller, and it occurred to me that all (okay, most of) the UPNP service identifiers go along the lines of “urn:dcineco-com” colon blah blah blah…
Is this string something that just got caught up and stuck into some example file, that no one wanted to mess with? Dcineco.com is “Digital Cinema Consultants” and it appears to me that they don’t really have anything to do with upnp, and that this string is just something that can be used as an identifier, and changed as needed for different services - is this correct?
– Edit – Just found the upnp spec pdf and this is indeed the case - the dcineco-com part of the above string isn’t required to be that value. I am still interested though to see how this one string has persisted through a lot of the files I’ve been looking at.
