I have the same problem. None of UPnP apps is able to discover my Vera. I already create a ticket but no response from MCV. Any body has solved this?
Just as a curious note, I have 2 veras and the discover only works if one of them is connected in cascade to the other one. i.e: ADSL Hub → Vera 1 → Vera 2. It doesn’t work if both are connected direct to my ADSL hub.
Which UPnP browsers are you using?
I tried with Intel Device Spy and Windows UPnP browser Google Code Archive - Long-term storage for Google Code Project Hosting.
None of them worked with Vera ![]()

Does Vera adhere to the UPnP specification?
Is anyone able to control Vera via an UPnP browser?
I can with GUPnP on linux.
Something with Vera isn’t right somehow though. I haven’t done any packet captures or reading of the UPnP spec, but when I start GUPnP up it must broadcast to do a discovery and vera responds. But after about 10 or so minutes it disappears out of the list of devices. I have wondered if in the UPnP spec a devices is supposed to do occasional [broad|multi]casts but vera doesn’t. Just a guess…
Looks like Vera is searching for InternetGatewayDevices and UPnP root devices (see attachment) …
Shouldn’t ‘:rootdevice’ be ‘upnp:rootdevice’?
The second attachment contains Vera’s reply to M-SEARCH upnp:rootdevice.
