Upgrade from VeraLite to VeraEdge?

My Vera light is showing its age and I can’t add devices anymore. I guess that I have reached the 50 limit with switches, 4in1 sensors, and cameras. Instead of migrating the data from one to another I’m planning on starting from scratch recreating the system on the VeraEdge. I know this will be time consuming but I feel in the long run it will be worth the effort.

My question is: Is the VeraEdge stable and will my Leviton Devices and Aeon Cameras and Sensors work. Also is the installation process as challenging on the VeraEdge as it was on the VeraLite?

Any opinions are welcome.

Why not the VeraPlus?

I went from vera lite to edge a year ago… I have a plus on order myself. I would suggest the 40.00 difference and go right for the plus.

If the plus was already out there and proven stable I would go for it, but I have reservations about a brand new product to the market.

Honestly the problems they have are not usually hardware related. All the hardware is basically the same router setup with their custom software. It’s going to run the same ui7 that you already have now. While I don’t think it’s going to go off without a hitch I think it’s going to be the same as the edge in terms of uses, problems and limitations.

I expect if there are any troubles it will be with zigbee or bluetooth devices, or the lack of getting them to function right or support for them (as this will all be new and their list of support will be short or lacking). If you get the edge you won;t have these problems but only because the edge doesn’t have them. And when you factor 40.00 more for faster processor, double the RAM, bluetooth and zigbee. It also has gig Ethernet and WiFi AC now (but that doesn’t mean much for most of us.) It would be a no brianer. If you want my edge I would love to upgrade for 40.00 or atleast less then 140 I’m paying.

LOL… What the heck, ordered the Plus!
