Updating lamp status in vera3

Hello !

when I turn on the light pressing the buttom in appliance or touching in the switch…I can see almost instantly vera3 update the status of the lamp to turned on of off…

but when I use one secondary controller vera3 do not update the status of the lamp…and thru vera3 I don’t know the lamp status and it is very important to knows how one room is…have some tip to make this updating in vera3 ?

thanks

There is no easy way. Using a secondary controller would cause the switch/light to report back to the controller issuing the command. (From my understanding) Vera would have to poll the device to get the status. This is a pretty common with secondary controllers.

how can I put my vera3 to poll the devices in a time interval ???

how many seconds is recommended ???

thank you !

Vera will poll the device automatically (assuming you did not turn this off in the settings tab).
The intervall depends on how many devices you have.
Just give it a couple of minutes and the correct status should be reflected in Vera as well.

It is also possible that you set up an automated poll via LUuP and set it to 60 sec.

Wouldn’t it make more sence to have a secondary controller trigger a scene in vera that would in turn perform the desired action and as such keep the light status up to date? I’m getting my Vera lite tomorrow so forgive me if this is a silly question.

Perhaps this depends on how the secondary controller works with Vera. With the GE 45600 and Intermatic HA07, turning scenes “on” is controlled by Vera. Dimming and turning scenes off is handled by the secondary controller only. I believe that specific device control is also handled by the secondary controller. What is your secondary controller?
