Im using a vera 2 with everspring wall sockets (in the uk) and wanted to know if anyone else has had this issue. All my sockets worked as expected until about 4 months ago when the one on the TV would go made for 20mins switching on and off so rapidly that the tv was not effected. I assumed it was faulty so took it out.
After while i put it somewhere else and it was ok. Now ive had another one do the same, it does it for maybe just 10 mins and this evening another has started to do it when i’ve switched it on. The latest is not switched on that much so cant be wear and tear. Surely they all cant of gone faulty feels like vera is doing this…anyone had similar ?
When it happens, if you power off Vera, does it stop?
Ive got another unit doing this now, turning off vera has no effect so it looks like the problem is with the switches themselves. I cant see that anything in the house is having an impact unles one of the other zwave switches has gone mental and is sending out signals. Its three switches in ine room, hoping it does not spread to the forth or to other rooms.
If i cant resolve this that will be the end of my zwave set up as this is just nuts.
I would make sure that the wiring is ok on the switches. Zwave is not bad, there can be faulty switches and just crappy hardware in general. If it has affected 3 of the four switches, I would check the wiring. Are they on the same breaker? Have you tried replacing one of the switches with another brand?
There was a case recently of a floating 3-way control wire that wasn’t taped off properly, causing the in-wall switch to turn on/off randomly; but yours are plug-in switch (not dimmer) sockets, right?
Try excluding one of them and see if it stops for that switch (as it wouldn’t respond to any Z-Wave command).
the eversprings have a built-in respond to alarm frame which causes this kinda behaviour. so it must have received some alarm frame or you have it connected to eachother with the in-built facility to join these switches separate from the vera.
the solution would be to just go to vera dashboard add/remove devices and remove and reset all everspring devices 1 by 1 from the z-wave network.
